[EN] The old Convento del Carmen, founded in 1281, is one of the most unique buildings in the city of Valencia. The architectural legacy accumulated by the monks who lived there for more than six centuries, together with the various uses and transformations that took place after the confiscation in 1835, makes it a focus of great cultural interest. The study aims, firstly, to approximate the reader through the history, to the historical and artistic legacy that is part of the city of Valencia. On the other hand, by analyzing its current situation, there is a proposal that seeks to expand and strengthen links between this complex heritage and the society

[ES] El antiguo Convento del Carmen, fundado en el año 1281, es una de las construcciones más singulares de la ciudad de Valencia. El legado arquitectónico que acumularon los frailes que lo habitaron durante más de seis siglos, sumado a los diversos usos y transformaciones acaecidas tras la desamortización en el año 1835, lo convierten en un foco de gran interés cultural. El estudio pretende, por una parte, aproximar al lector a través de la historia, al legado históricoartístico que forma parte de la ciudad de Valencia. Por otra, a través del análisis de su contexto actual, se realiza una propuesta que busca ampliar y estrechar vínculos entre este complejo patrimonial y la sociedad.
