De Kiltros a Nahuales. Revisión del trauma para una producción audiovisual

Abstract

[ES] A más de tres décadas del fin de la dictadura militar chilena (1973 1990), sus heridas siguen abiertas, latiendo en el cuerpo colectivo de quienes heredaron el miedo, el silencio y el olvido impuesto. De Kiltros a Nahuales es un proyecto audiovisual que propone una relectura de ese trauma heredado desde una perspectiva simbólica, afectiva y artística. A través de una narrativa construida con material de archivo personal, animación en stop-motion y figuras arquetípicas latinoamericanas como el kiltro y el nahual, esta propuesta reflexiona sobre la posmemoria y las emociones transmitidas intergeneracionalmente. La figura del kiltro, mestizo y marginal, encarna la memoria fragmentada de un país herido; mientras que el nahual, guía espiritual mesoamericano, abre el camino hacia una posible transformación y sanación. El estallido social de 2019 irrumpe como un espejo del trauma original, reactivando memorias que parecían dormidas y convocando nuevas formas de resistencia. Esta obra no busca representar la historia desde la literalidad, sino desde el gesto sensible que recupera lo indecible: la emoción heredada, el archivo afectivo, la memoria que arde sin imagen. En el cruce entre arte, política y archivo íntimo, esta propuesta indaga en cómo la creación puede hospedar lo que no se nombra, haciendo del arte un espacio para resistir, alojar y procesar traumas colectivos que aún siguen operando en las generaciones posteriores.

[EN] More than three decades after the end of the Chilean military dictatorship (1973 1990), its wounds remain open, pulsing in the collective body of those who inherited fear, silence, and imposed forgetting. From Kiltros to Nahuales is an audiovisual project that offers a rereading of this inherited trauma from a symbolic, affective, and artistic perspective. Through a narrative constructed with personal archive materials, stop-motion animation, and Latin American archetypal figures such as the kiltro and the nahual, the project reflects on postmemory and the intergenerational transmission of emotion. The kiltro mestizo and marginal embodies the fragmented memory of a wounded nation, while the nahual a Mesoamerican spiritual guide opens a path toward possible transformation and healing. The 2019 social uprising erupts as a mirror of the original trauma, reactivating memories that seemed dormant and invoking new forms of resistance. This work does not seek to represent history literally, but rather through a sensitive gesture that recovers the unspeakable: inherited emotion, the affective archive, memory that burns without image. At the intersection of art, politics, and intimate archive, the project explores how artistic creation can host what remains unnamed, turning art into a space to resist, hold, and process collective traumas that continue to affect later generations.
