Un sòl piròfit. Una propuesta escultórica de reforestación

Abstract

[ES] Esta memoria trata sobre el trabajo escultórico realizado en torno a algunos de los bosques de la Comarca del Alto Palancia en la provincia de Castellón, afectados por el incendio de Bejís ocurrido en 2022.

La intervención que se propone se realiza repartiendo bombas de semillas por el suelo del terreno escogido. Se trata de pequeños recipientes de arcilla huecos cuya forma exterior coincide con los frutos de los árboles más abundantes de la zona. En su interior contienen una mezcla de semillas aromáticas, gramíneas y leguminosas que tienen por función nutrir el suelo y dotarlo de capacidad germinativa.

Además, se ha realizado una recopilación de datos a través de mapas y fotografías, que forman parte de la documentación obtenida al recorrer y sembrar el territorio. Dicho gesto trata de simular la cualidad pirófita que poseen las piñas, cierta afinidad con el fuego que les permite garantizar la reproducción de la especie ante los efectos de un incendio.

[EN] This report is about the sculptural work done around some of the forests of the Alto Palancia region in the province of Castellón, affected by the Bejís fire that occurred in 2022.

The proposed intervention is carried out by distributing seed bombs on the ground of the chosen area. These are small hollow clay containers whose exterior shape coincides with the fruits of the most abundant trees in the area. Inside they contain a mixture of aromatic seeds, grasses and legumes that have the function of nourishing the soil and providing it with germination capacity.

In addition, a collection of data has been carried out through maps and photographs, which are part of the documentation obtained by exploring and sowing the territory. This gesture tries to simulate the pyrophytic quality that pine cones possess, a certain affinity with fire that allows them to guarantee the reproduction of the species in the face of the effects of a fire.
