LAS CASAS SOÑADAS DE ALBERTO CAMPO BAEZA: NOSTALGIA

[EN] Alberto Campo Baeza¿s work focuses on the exploration of the fundamentals of architecture from the self-restraint and wisdom that experiece can provide. However, despite being one of the most renowned Spanish architects, he keeps working in domestic as well as institutional projects. Probably, the reason is that he finds in the houses a field of experimentation at a small scale that allows him to put his ideas into practice later on in major works. In all likelihood, the explanation is that, in the house, Campo Baeza identifies the keys of human dwelling, and he develops them from the usual typologies: the cave, the cabin and the courtyard house. Creating dreamed houses is not an easy thing to do, specially when one dreams them for other people. Nevertheless, the artistic career of this architect has proved that dreams sometimes come true.

[ES] La obra de Alberto Campo Baeza ha tratado de explorar los temas básicos de la arquitectura desde la contención y la sabiduría que ofrece la experiencia. Pero a pesar de ser uno de los arquitectos españoles más reconocidos sigue dividiendo su tiempo entre los proyectos institucionales y sus casas. Quizás porque en ellas encuentra un campo de experimentación a pequeña escala que le permite luego desarrollar sus ideas en obras mayores. Seguramente, porque en la casa Campo Baeza reconoce las claves del habitar humano, y las desarrolla desde las tipologías de siempre: la cueva, la cabaña y la casa patio. Crear casas soñadas no es tarea fácil, sobre todo si se sueñan para otros, pero en el caso de este arquitecto su trayectoria a demostrado que a veces los sueños se hacen realidad.
