[EN] The Taccuino of Bartolomeo Ammannati, housed in the Biblioteca Riccardiana in Florence, is a fragmentary manuscript that offers unique insights into the artistic and architectural preoccupations of the renowned XVI-century sculptor and architect. Comprising five distinct sections, the Taccuino covers a wide array of topics including geometry, architectural sketches, and reflections on military architecture. Notably, the third section presents early thoughts on fortification design, hinting at an incomplete treatise on military architecture.
