La Marjal de la Safor como unidad ambiental: análisis entre la calidad natural y la percepción social

Abstract

[ES] Actualmente la sociedad está más preocupada por el medio ambiente que en épocas anteriores y la Marjal de la Safor es una de las zonas húmedas más importantes de la Comunidad Valenciana con un alto valor medioambiental, pero es susceptible de cambios. Por esta razón, la protección y el mantenimiento de su calidad ambiental por parte de las instituciones es necesario y además, el valor social resulta determinante. También el Covid-19 presupone cambios en aspectos sociales y medioambientales, analizaremos sus efectos. Nuestro propósito de estudio es apreciar si efectivamente se cumple con el adecuado tratamiento y cuidado integral, dado que la Marjal de la Safor se conforma como unidad ambiental pero su territorialidad está compartida por los municipios de Gandía, Xeresa, Xeraco y Tavernes de la Valldigna. En este trabajo resaltaremos aspectos de gestión importantes, así como la relación ambiental y social, teniendo en cuenta la condición de LIC y ZEPA según la normativa europea de la red natura 2000.

[EN] Currently society is more concerned about the environment and the marsh of the Safor is one of the most important wetlands of the Valencian community with a high environmental value, but it is susceptible to change, for this reason the protection or the degree of care of environmental quality by the institutions is necessary and also the social value is decisive. Covid-19 also reflects changes in social and environmental aspects, and we will analyze their effects. Our purpose of study is to appreciate if indeed the adequate treatment and integral care is complied with, at the same time the marsh of the Safor is an environmental unit that has no border, but its management is shared by the municipalities of Gandía, Xeresa, Xeraco, and Tavernes de la Valldigna. In this work we will highlight important aspects, as well as the environmental and social relationship, taking into account the condition of SCI and SPA according to the European regulations of the Natura 2000 network.
