Estudio y catalogación de los escritorios del siglo XVII-XVIII del Real Colegio-Seminario de Corpus Christi

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo trata de estudiar y catalogar un tipo de muebles escritorio, pertenecientes a los siglos XVII-XVIII, ubicados en los diferentes salones y salas del Real Colegio Seminario del Corpus Christi de Valencia. Debido a la singularidad, en este tipo de mobiliario, no existen dos muebles similares. Hay que destacar sus materiales a la hora de su realización, debido a la gran dificultad, tanto de trabajo de resistencia que ofrecen algunas de las maderas, como en el aspecto económico, pudiéndolos destacar por su rareza. Lo que implicaba su alto valor en el mercado. Se pretende dar un valor a éstos bienes, como piezas únicas. Por éste motivo, se ha realizado un estudio histórico del mueble. Con la intención de facilitar su comprensión, conocer los materiales que se han utilizado a lo largo de estos dos siglos, XVII-XVIII, las técnicas y tecnologías de fabricación del mueble, en relación con los estudiados de la forma más didáctica y visual. Apoyándose en fotos, croquis y tablas. Al mismo tiempo, se ha efectuado un examen de los materiales empleados en éstos muebles. También se ha ejecutado un tratado general comparativo de piezas similares, conservadas en otras colecciones y museos en la ciudad de Valencia. La finalidad de este trabajo es poder divulgar el valor histórico y plástico de estos escritorios, crear conciencia y difundir un patrimonio prácticamente desconocido y procedente de uno de los edificios más importantes entre los monumentos histórico-artístico valenciano. Por último, hacer un repaso del estado de conservación que se recogerá en cada ficha de una forma concisa y breve.

[EN] This project studies and catalogues desks of a certain type, which date back to the 17th and 18th century, to be found in different halls and salons of the Real Colegio Seminario del Corpus Christi Valencia. Due to the singular nature of this type of furniture, no two models are the same. It is worth noting the materials used here are very difficult to find, due to their exceptional durability as well as their high price, and therefore extremely rare. This explains their high market value. The goal of the project is to establish the value of these unique items. This is why a historic study of furniture in general has been carried out, in order to make this topic easier to understand, to analyse the materials used in the 17th and 18th century, as well as the techniques and technologies of furniture production, as they relate to the investigated items visually and didactically. To this end, photographs, sketches, and tables are considered. At the same time, the raw materials used to produce these items have been examined. Additionally, a general comparative study of similar pieces has been carried out; these objects are stored in other collections and museums in Valencia. The goal of this project is to establish the historic and financial value of these desks, to build awareness and spread the word about a practically unknown part of our heritage, recovered in one of the most historically and artistically significant buildings in Valencia.
