Intervención en el barrio de Morvedre

Abstract

[ES] El barrio de Morvedre, situado al norte del centro histórico de la ciudad de Valencia, ha destacado por diferentes elementos históricos. Sin embargo, el eje de Sagunto, se está viendo afectado por el evidente deterioro de alguno de sus espacios, lo que conlleva una pérdida de carácter e importancia histórica. El ámbito del proyecto se caracteriza por su conexión con el resto de la ciudad, a través tanto del eje mencionado anteriormente como mediante la cercanía del transporte público. Además, tiene una proximidad a diferentes zonas verdes como el rio Turia, el Jardín de Viveros y el parque de Marxalenes. Mediante diferentes entrevistas realizadas a los residentes de este barrio, se han identificado carencias tanto de espacios como de actividades. Problemas como la ausencia de servicios sociales y espacios verdes, envejecimiento de la población y a su vez, falta de centros para gente de la tercera edad. Con la intención de solventar esta problemática, el programa propuesto está formado por diferentes equipamientos situados en dos manzanas al norte del barrio: una residencia universitaria, pequeños locales comerciales y un centro social. Este ultimo está dotado de varios fragmentos entrelazados, donde destacamos las actividades deportivas, las cuales tendrán lugar en las cubiertas de los edificios. Todos ellos pretenden ser y tener actividades accesibles a todo el mundo, potenciando la relación entre los residentes del barrio. Por otro lado, para proveer de utilidad los espacios vacíos existentes en el barrio se han creado diferentes zonas de uso público, para así conectar los espacios verdes.

[EN] The neighborhood of Morvedre, located north of the historic center of the city of Valencia, has stood out for different historical elements. However, the Sagunto axis, is being affected by the evident deterioration of some of its spaces, leading to a loss of character and historical importance. The project area is characterized by its connection with the rest of the city, both through the aforementioned axis and through the proximity of public transport. In addition, it is located close to different green areas such as the Turia River, the Viveros Garden and the Marxalenes Park. Through many interviews conducted with residents of this neighborhood, deficiencies have been identified both in terms of abailable spaces and activities. Problems such as the absence of social services and green spaces, aging population and lack of centers for the elderly. With the intention of solving these problems, the proposed program consists of different facilities located in two blocks north of the neighborhood: a university residence, small commercial premises and a social center. The latter is endowed with several intertwined fragments, where we highlight the sports activities, which will take place on the roofs of the buildings. All of them are intended to be and have activities accessible to everyone, enhancing the relationship between the residents of the neighborhood. On the other hand, in order to provide utility to the existing empty spaces in the neighborhood, different areas for public use have been created, so the green spaces could be connected.
