Francisco Sebastián Nicolau: diálogos interdisciplinares, arte y diseño

Abstract

[ES] La propuesta del presente ensayo se ciñe al estudio y seguimiento de la dilatada trayectoria, llevada a cabo entre arte y diseño, de Francisco Sebastián Nicolau (Valencia, 1956), investigador nato y experimentador constante, contextualizando, además, la influencia de su saga familiar y siguiendo, analíticamente, algunas de sus fundamentales etapas de referencia. La realidad transdisciplinar de su resolutivo programa evidencia las estrechas relaciones que, de forma sistemática, impone y baraja entre pintura, dibujo, fotografía, animación y escultura, a la vez que no deja de propiciar, sagazmente, la presencia de otros recursos intermediáticos (instalaciones y vídeos) en las recientes muestras promovidas, en torno a sus ambiciosos y actuales diseños.

[EN] The proposal of this essay is limited to the study and monitoring of the extensive career, carried out between art and design, of Francisco Sebastián Nicolau (Valencia, 1956), a born researcher and constant experimenter, also contextualizing the influence of his family lineage and analytically following some of his fundamental reference stages. The transdisciplinary reality of his resolute program demonstrates the close relations-hips that he systematically imposes and juggles between painting, drawing, photography, animation and sculpture, while also shrewdly promoting the presence of other intermediary resources (installations and videos) in recent exhibitions promoted around his ambitious and current designs.
