Estudio, análisis y modelización de la estructura del Club de Yates de Santa Paula, de João Batista Vilanova Artigas mediante SAP-2000

Abstract

[ES] La estructura de un edificio no tiene por qué ser solo su esqueleto, muchas veces arquitectura y estructura están tan relacionadas que la una no se puede concebir sin la otra. Este es el caso del Garaje de Barcos del Club de Yates de Santa Paula, del arquitecto brasileño João Batista Vilanova Artigas. Esta obra, en la que solo hay estructura, se ha convertido en un icono de la arquitectura brutalista paulista. A lo largo de este trabajo se pretende realizar el estudio, análisis y modelización de la estructura del Garaje de Barcos del Club de Yates de Santa Paula mediante el programa de cálculo de estructuras SAP 2000. Para abordar este estudio se ha realizado una investigación acerca del arquitecto Vilanova Artigas, el contexto histórico en el que desarrolló su carrera profesional y el estilo arquitectónico que defendió, así como un análisis de las características del proyecto de estudio. Esta primera parte será de gran utilidad para realizar el estudio y análisis de la estructura del edificio, que se llevará a cabo mediante la herramienta informática SAP2000, incorporando un modelo de su estructura con los detalles adecuados para que los resultados sean lo más fieles posibles a la realidad. A partir de los resultados de este análisis efectuado, se llegará a unas conclusiones respecto a la validez del modelo, así como de la respuesta estructural del edificio. Una vez analizado el comportamiento estructural, se desarrollarán con más detalle algunos elementos estructurales de más interés del proyecto.

[EN] The structure of a building does not have to be only its skeleton but often architecture as well since structure can never be conceived without architecture. The boathouse for Santa Paula Yatch Club by the Brazilian architect Joao Batista Vilanova Artigas is an example of what referred above. This project has turned into an icon of brutalist Paulist architecture as the structure is its basis only. Throughout this project it is intended to carry out the study, analysis and modeling of the boathouse for Santa Paula Yatch Club through purpose structural program SAP2000. The investigation has approached the well-known architect Vilanova Artigas' life and work, the historical background in which he developed his professional career and architectural style he defended as well as an analysis of this project study traits. This first part will be of great usefulness to carry out with the study and analysis of the building structure, which will be carried out through the computer tool SAP2000, including a model of its structure with the suitable details for the results to be as accurate as possible to reality. On the basis of the results obtained there will be conclusions regarding the model validity as well as the building structural response. Once the behavior of the structure analysed, further details referring some structural elements of higher relevance in the project will be developed.
