Arquitectura y fotografía: decálogo compartido

Abstract

[ES] Recorrer una arquitectura a través de una imagen es, a día de hoy, una forma cada vez más habitual de conocer su diseño y su construcción, pero también sus pequeños detalles. El trabajo consiste en el estudio de diez propiedades relevantes de la fotografía de arquitectura a través del análisis de diferentes imágenes. Para ello, el discurso se sirve de diversas instantáneas, seleccionadas minuciosamente, que ilustran de forma clara y directa las ideas expresadas en el texto. Se examinan fotografías de todo tipo de construcciones, tanto contemporáneas como de siglos pasados. También se incluyen calotipos de la obra El Lápiz de la Naturaleza que revelan que, ya desde los inicios del retrato de arquitectura, estas cualidades se tenían en consideración. Este decálogo compartido es una síntesis de cómo la fotografía debe aproximarse a la arquitectura y a su definición formal y material.

[EN] Exploring architecture through an image is, nowadays, an increasingly common way not only of meeting its design and construction, but also its small details. The dissertation consists of the study of ten relevant traits of architectural photography through the analysis of different images. In order to do this, the speech is accompanied by different snapshots, carefully selected, that illustrate the ideas expressed in the text in a clear and direct way. Photographs of all types of buildings, both contemporary and from earlier centuries, are examined. Calotypes of the work The Pencil of Nature are also included and they reveal that, even since the beginning of the photography of architecture, these qualities were considered. This shared decalogue is a synthesis of how photography must approach architecture and its formal and material definition.
