Masía El Collado: escuela agroforestal y albergue en Bejís

Abstract

[ES] Tras los incendios del verano de 2012 los montes del Alto Palancia quedaron vacíos y negros. Tres años después paseando por la zona de Bejís se podía observar que todo seguía igual. Esto me planteó la reflexión de si la arquitectura puede ayudar y actuar para proteger nuestros bosques, puesto que si se recupera la vida de montaña, y con ello su mantenimiento, será más fácil evitar nuevos incendios. Se escoge por tanto un proyecto de prevención en vez de solución. Una escuela para educar a los jóvenes en tareas de limpieza, cuidado y mantenimiento forestal. Un albergue en un cruce de caminos, para favorecer el senderismo y el turismo de montaña, sano y respetuoso con el medio ambiente. Dos usos que ayudarán a que Bejís y sus alrededores mantengan con vida su patrimonio paisajístico. Para ello además se revaloriza la historia del pueblo, recuperando un enclave importante, El Collado, y la Masía situada en él. Un lugar que distingue dos valles, con una gran cantidad de bancales llenos de almendros y nogales, que no hace mucho estuvieron rodeados de unos densos bosques. La Masía, en estado de ruina, es la base del proyecto. Recuperando de alguna forma su historia y sus usos, se incorpora en nuevo programa en ella. Se respeta la huella de los edificios pero se interviene adecuando las necesidades. La agregación de volúmenes se organiza en torno a una plaza en dos niveles, que intenta recuperar el sentimiento de vida en común. Los antiguos corrales y los pajares acogerán el uso de la escuela, mientras que lo que eran las viviendas será el nuevo albergue. Dentro de estos elementos se puede diferenciar claramente la pieza servidora de la pieza principal. Además se añade una cafetería para ambos usos, así como para los visitantes de los pueblos de la zona.

[EN] After the fires of summer 2012 the mountains of the "Alto Palancia" were empty and black. Three years later walking around the area of Bejis it could be observed that everything remained the same. This raised the question of whether architecture can help and act to protect our forests, since if mountain life is restored, and with its maintenance, it will be easier to avoid new fires. Therefore prevention instead of solution is chosen as a project. A school to educate young people in cleaning tasks, and forest care and maintenance. A hostel at a crossroads, to promote trekking and mountain tourism, healthy and respectful activities with the environment. Two uses that will help Bejís and its surroundings to keep alive its landscape heritage. For this, the history of the village is also revalued, recovering an important scene, "El Collado", and the Masía located in it. A place that distinguishes two valleys, with a large number of terraces full of almonds and walnut trees, which not long ago were surrounded by dense forests. The Masia, currently in a state of ruin, is the basis of the project. Recovering in some way its history and its uses, and keeping in mind the trace of the old building, the new programme is incorporated. The aggregation of volumes is organized around a square on two levels, which tries to recover the feeling of life in common. The old corrals and the barns will welcome the use of the school, while what was the housing will be the new hostel. Observing these elements you can clearly differentiate the servicing part from the main part. In addition there is a coffe shop for both the users and the visitors from the villages in the area.
