Construir con la luz : la escenografía teatral de Robert Wilson

Abstract

Entre las numerosas disciplinas manejadas por Robert Wilson (Texas, 1941), es en el diseño escenográfico de obras teatrales y operísticas en lo que se centra este trabajo. En primer lugar, se aborda el tema de la escenografía: su historia, las distintas tipologías, y los aspectos que afectan a su diseño. A continuación, se centra en el trabajo del autor. Se busca la relación con sus referentes, así como con diferentes artistas coetáneos a él. Se trata también de desgranar sus técnicas en lo que respecta al uso de la luz, el espacio, la composición y el color; todas ellas, desde su punto de vista arquitectónico, pues es así como Wilson, influenciado por su formación en dicha disciplina, las plantea. Por último, se analiza una de sus obras teatrales en detalle, a partir de las características propias de su diseño escenográfico y de los conceptos estudiados sobre la disciplina

Among the different disciplines in which Robert Wilson (Texas, 1941) is involved, in this essay the goal is to develop the one of theatre and opera stage design. The essay starts with a general study about scenography: the history, the different typologies, and the aspects that concern its design. After that, the writing is focused on the author's work. The relations between his work and the one of his referents and contemporary artists it is searched. Then, the study tries to determine the key aspects of his design by analyzing some aspects such as lighting, space, composition and color, in an architectural way. The same way that influenced his whole career. Finally, one of his plays is analyzed in detail, regarding the characteristics of his design and the concepts studied before about the discipline.
