Superficies simbólicas.Piel, Vestimenta, Identidad

Abstract

Este trabajo busca desarrollar a través de la práctica artística temáticas como el cuerpo, la piel, la vestimenta, lo orgánico y lo abyecto. A través de la exploración de la relación entre estos conceptos buscamos preguntarnos de qué manera habitamos nuestro propio cuerpo, y qué clase de visión del mismo podemos aportar. La piel y la vestimenta se enlazan a través del elemento textil en el que se centra la producción. Ambas comportan dos tipos de dinámicas similares: por un lado aportan protección del exterior, mientras que por otro lado tienen un componente de proyección, hacia el exterior. La protección, lo interior, se relacionan con los elementos más blandos, mientras que la proyección hacia el exterior puede tener un componente de agresividad, simbolizado por estructuras amenazantes. La producción de trajes y máscaras será luego fotografiada para su documentación en interacción con el cuerpo humano.

This work seeks to develop, through artistic practice, themes such as body, skin, clothing, the organic and the abject. Through the exploration of the relationship between these concepts we seek to ask ourselves in which way we inhabit our own body, and what kind of vision of it we can contribute. The skin and clothing are linked through the textile element on which production is centered. Both involve two types of similar dynamics: on the one hand they provide protection from the outside, while on the other they have a projection component, towards the outside. The protection, the interior, is related to the softer elements, while the outward projection can have a component of aggressiveness, symbolized by threatening structures. The production of costumes and masks will then be photographed for their documentation in interaction with the human body.
