Restauración de las Portadas góticas de la Concatedral de Santa María de Castellón

Abstract

[EN] These portals inserted in a new temple built in the present century by Vicente Traver Tomás have recently undergone a restoration process to arrest their progressive deterioration. The author of this article, a member of the saga of architects responsible for the building of the current church, explains in these lines the historic background, the methodology, the intervention criteria and the techniques used in its refurbishment. The article is complemented with a biography of the architect Vicente Traver Tomás.

[ES] Las portadas góticas de la Iglesia Concatedral de Santa María de Castellón insertadas en el nuevo tem­plo edificado en este siglo por Vicente Traver Tomás, han sufrido recientemente un proceso de restauración que ha detenido su deterioro progresivo. El autor de este artículo, perteneciente a la saga de arquitectos responsable de la erección del templo actual, explica en estas líneas los antecedentes históricos, la meto­dología, los criterios de intervención y las técnicas empleadas en la restauración. El artículo se completa con una biografía del arquitecto Vicente Traver Tomás.
