Virtual/actual. Definiciones de una realidad

Abstract

[EN] Virutal/actual. Definitions of a reality is an exhibition project which revolves around the concept of representation. Mainly, the room of the municipal library Joan de Timoneda and the spatial elements of its surroundings have been taken as a reference frame; namely, the library itself and the city of Beniferri where it is located. With regard to these spaces, the problem of their representation has been addressed through images, symbols and objects; which define a referential framework from within it. Therefore, the pieces that make up the virtual/actual project are definitions that reflect on the nature of the space that surrounds them. However, under the virtual/actual title it is intended to go beyond the notion of representation; with these two concepts that label respectively that which is not and is present in the room, it is intended to play with the ambiguity involved in deciding the degree of reality of what is seen. The present work is framed, on the one hand, from philosophy: in the theories about the possible worlds that sustain the Lacanian theory of the real, the imaginary and the symbolic reviewed by Slavoj Žižek. And, on the other hand, from art: above all in conceptual art, mainly in its empirical-medial side and post-Internet art.

[ES] Virtual/actual. Definiciones de una realidad es un proyecto expositivo el cual gira entorno al concepto representación. Principalmente, se ha tomado como marco referencial la sala de la biblioteca municipal Joan de Timoneda y los elementos espaciales de su alrededor; a saber, la propia biblioteca y la ciudad de Beniferri donde se localiza. Con respecto a estos espacios, se ha abordado la problemática de su representación a través de las imágenes, los símbolos y los objetos; los cuales definen un marco referencial desde dentro de él. Por lo tanto, las piezas que componen el proyecto virtual/actual son definiciones que reflexionan sobre la naturaleza del espacio que las envuelve. Sin embargo, bajo el título virtual/actual se pretende ir más allá de la noción de representación; con estos dos conceptos que etiquetan respectivamente aquello que no está y está presente en la sala, se pretende jugar con la ambigüedad que supone decidir el grado de realidad de aquello que se ve. El presente trabajo se enmarca, por un lado, desde la filosofía: en las teorías sobre los mundos posibles que sustentan la teoría lacaniana de lo real, lo imaginario y lo simbólico revisada por Slavoj Žižek. Y, por otro lado, desde el arte: sobre todo en el arte conceptual, principalmente en su vertiente empírico-medial y en el arte post-Internet.
