| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [EN] Because of the energy problems and the overexploitation of natural resources, it is interesting to find new combustible whose generation comes from renewable energy sources, such as hydrogen obtained through photoelectrochemical processes using solar power as the energy source. To from hydrogen from this method we use TiO2 nanotubes as the photocatalysts. Nevertheless, these nanostructures present disadvantages in their efficiency so that it is necessary to improve the efficiency before high levels of production. For this reason, this research will focus on the photoeletrochemical propeties of the TiO2 nanotubes by means of anodization using hydrodynamic conditions. Annealing was carried out using air, argon and nitrogen transforming the amorphous structure to a crystalline structure. Subsequently, the characterization of TiO2 nanostructures have been carried out by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope and Raman confocal microscopy technique. While for the study of the process efficiency, incident photon to current efficiency technique was used and the photoelectrochemical production of hydrogen was based on the splitting water. In addition, the photo-corrosion resistant test was also performed. The results obtained have shown a better response of the photocatalysts applied to the production of hydrogen which are heated in argon and nitrogen atmospheres, with respect to the use the air atmosphere in the thermal treatment. This is due to the oxygen vacancies that appear during the heating in argon atmosphere and to the adding of nitrogen to the TiO2 lattice during the thermal treatment in nitrogen atmosphere. | es_ES |
