ESTUDIO TÉCNICO Y PROPUESTA DE INTERVENCIÓN DEL MAROUFLAGE ALEGORÍA DEL TRIUNFO DE LA LUZ DE JOSÉ BREL

Abstract

[EN] The study focuses on the mural "Alegoría del triunfo de la luz", located on the roof of the main living room of a private house on Calle Conde de Almodóvar, in the city of Valencia. The work is part of a broad pictorial cycle together with other paintings of the same technique that decorate the whole of the room. The work of study was made by the painter José Brel at the beginning of the twentieth. It is a marouflage, a technique that consists of the adhesion of a textile support to another support, such as a wall or an altarpiece. Through an exhaustive photographic documentation and analysis of diverse nature, a historicaltechnical study and the state of conservation will be carried out to determine the materials that make up the work and its contextualization with its decorative environment. After which guidelines and proposals for restoration and conservation will be established.

[ES] El estudio se centra en el mural Alegoría del triunfo de la luz , ubicado en el techo del salón principal de una vivienda particular de la Calle Conde de Almodóvar , en la ciudad de Valencia. La obra forma parte de un ciclo pictórico amplio junto con otras pinturas de la misma técnica que decoran la totalidad de la estancia,. La obra de estudio fue realizada por el pintor José Brel a principios del XX. Se trata de un marouflage, una técnica que consiste en la adhesión de un soporte textil a otro soporte, como podría ser un muro o un retablo. A través de una exhaustiva documentación fotográfica y análisis de diversa índole se realizará un estudio histórico-técnico y del estado de conservación para determinar los materiales que conforman la obra y su contextualización con su entorno decorativo. Tras lo cual se establecerán pautas y propuestas de restauración y conservación.
