El lugar en la arquitectura de Rafael Moneo

Abstract

[ES] El presente trabajo es un análisis a través de una selección de obras de Rafael Moneo, en las que el lugar tiene un papel primordial y es la base del proyecto. La arquitectura tiene una relación directa con el lugar, y el lugar con ésta. Surge una simbiosis que repercute directamente en la ejecución de un proyecto. Por ello, entender el lugar es el primer paso para el correcto desarrollo de una obra de arquitectura. Primeramente, es necesario un estudio cronológico de las obras construidas por el arquitecto. Una vez obtenidas, se realiza una selección de aquellas que reflejen mejor esta idea y aporten mayor interés. La estructura a seguir en el trabajo es: confeccionar una serie de parámetros en cada edificio, para entender como Rafael Moneo ha intervenido según su emplazamiento. El objetivo de la investigación es entender su arquitectura, ver qué mecanismos influyen en sus decisiones y como hace frente a las distintas variantes que se le plantean, siempre teniendo presente el lugar y como varían o no sus planteamientos en función de éste. Finalmente, se formulan las distintas conclusiones posteriores al desarrollo de la investigación.

[EN] The present work is an analysis through a selection of works by Rafael Moneo, where the place has a primordial role and it is the basis of the project. Architecture has a direct relationship with the place, and the place with architecture. A symbiosis emerges, and it has a direct impact on the execution of a project. Therefore, to understand the place is the first step for the correct development of architectural work. Firstly, it is necessary a chronological study of the works constructed by the architect. Once obtained, a selection of those that better reflect this idea and bring greater interest is made. The structure to be followed in the work is: to make a series of parameters in each building, to understand how Rafael Moneo has intervened according to its location. The objective of the research is to understand his architecture, to see which mechanisms influence his decisions and how he faces the different variants that are presented to him, always keeping in mind the place and how his approaches vary according to the location. Finally, different conclusions that follow the development of the research are formulated.
