Turias Line : Torre del Portal Nou

Abstract

El proyecto se encuentra en una zona intramuros del casco histórico de Valencia, concretamente, el Barrio del Carmen. La manzana se ubica en el perímetro del mismo, entre este y el Jardín del Turia, delimitada por la traza de la antigua muralla.

La estrategia tomada pretende regenerar el Barrio del Carmen, un barrio heredero de la industria que actualmente sirve de soporte a talleres de artesanos y artistas así como a variadas actividades de carácter social. Así mismo, se plantea la conexión con el antiguo cauce del río Turia y el aprovechamiento de infraestructuras existentes como el túnel que bordea el mismo río. El proyecto que se va a desarrollar completa la edificación existente en la calle Llíria y avanza de forma lineal hacia el Turia plegándose en la esquina y generando así una torre, un punto de referencia y de entrada hacia la parte más antigua de la ciudad de Valencia. La edificación servirá de soporte a espacios de oficinas, comercios, talleres, salas polivalentes y espacios de trabajo.

The strategy adopted seeks to regenerate Barrio del Carmen, an industry heir district that currently serves as a support for workshops of artisans and artists as well as various activities of a social nature. The project completes the existing building on Llíria street and progresses lienally towards the Turia folding in the corner and generating a tower. A point of reference and entry to the oldest part of the city of Valencia . The building will support offices, shops, workshops, multipurpose rooms and work spaces.
