Analizando el ciberespionaje ruso: APT Turla

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de este proyecto es hacer un análisis de fuentes abiertas en profundidad del grupo de ciberespionaje Turla, contextualizado en la comunidad de ciberinteligencia rusa, a priori una de las más potentes del mundo. De esta manera no solo se pretende proporcionar un conocimiento sobre el grupo y sus herramientas , sino también sobre esta comunidad de ciberinteligencia, los diferentes actores que la componen, sus intereses y sus objetivos. Para lograr este objetivo se analizará gran parte de la información publicada sobre este grupo de ciberespionaje y los servicios de inteligencia rusos a los que supuestamente está ligado. A partir de la información que obtengamos de fuentes abiertas, realizaremos un análisis de inteligencia correlando toda la información obtenida. Esto permitirá concentrar en un mismo documento inteligencia muy importante a la hora de conocer este grupo APT; inteligencia que podrá ser de utilidad a los diferentes analistas de seguridad.

[CA] L’objectiu d’este projecte és fer una anàlisi de fonts obertes en profunditat del grup de ciberespionaje Turla, contextualitzat en la comunitat de ciberinteligencia russa, a priori una de les més potents del món. D’esta manera no només es pretén proporcionar un coneixement sobre el grup y les seues ferramentes , sinó també sobre esta comunitat de ciberinteligencia, els diferents actors que la componen, els seus interessos i els seus objectius. Per a aconseguir este objectiu s’analitzarà gran part de la informació publicada sobre este grup de ciberespionaje i els servicis d’intel·ligència russos als qui suposadament està lligat. A partir de la informació que obtinguem de fonts obertes, realitzarem una anàlisi d’intel·ligència correlant tota la informació obtinguda. Açò permetrà concentrar en un mateix document intel·ligència molt important a l’hora de conéixer este grup APT; intel·ligència que podrà ser d’utilitat als diferents analistes de seguretat.

[EN] The objective of this project is to make an in-depth open source analysis of the Turla cyber-intelligence group, contextualized in the Russian cyber-intelligence community, a priori one of the most powerful in the world. In this way it is intended to provide knowledge about the group and its tools, but also about this community of cyberintelligence, the different actors that make it up, their interests and their objectives. To achieve this goal, much of the published information about this cyber-espionage group and the Russian intelligence services to which it is allegedly linked will be analysed. Based on the information we obtain from open sources, we will carry out an intelligence analysis correlating all the information obtained. This will allow the concentration of very important intelligence on the same document at the time of knowing this APT group; which may be useful to the different security analysts.
