El modelo de ciudad lineal. La forma urbana como elemento estructural del territorio

Abstract

[ES] El presente trabajo final de grado tiene como objetivo estudiar la evolución histórica del modelo de la llamada ciudad lineal y analizar sus posibilidades como elemento de organización territorial. Dicho estudio comienza con el estudio de las propuestas de ¿Arturo Soria¿ y el análisis de su modelo de ciudad lineal. Para seguir cronológicamente con el desarrollo del modelo, se abordan los planteamientos teóricos de ¿Le Corbusier¿, y se realizara un breve análisis de su modelo de ciudad lineal industrial. Una vez planteadas las bases teóricas, nos situamos en Rusia a principios del s. XX donde, tras la caída del modelo económico de desarrollo rural y con el éxodo masivo de los asentamientos rurales a las ciudades, se propone una reestructuración territorial de todo el país para intentar resolver los problemas residenciales y dotacionales en las grandes urbes. Dicha restructuración separa a los teóricos rusos en dos ramas, urbanistas y desurbanistas. El estudio y análisis se centrará en el desarrollo de los planteamientos lineales de ordenación territorial por parte de los desurbanistas, así como de sus ideas y propuestas para la nueva ciudad socialista. Finalmente, para poder obtener unas conclusiones sobre la validez del modelo, se plantean una serie de proyectos posteriores a los vistos anteriormente, que continúan con la línea de pensamiento iniciada con Arturo Soria y Le Corbusier. Con este pequeño elenco de proyectos podremos ver cómo han sido acotados los grandes modelos utópicos y cual ha sido la aplicación del modelo lineal en la actualidad.

[EN] The purpose of this final degree research work is to study the historical evolution of the linear city model and analyze its possibilities as an element of territorial organization.

This study begins with the study of the "Arturo Soria" proposals and the analysis of its linear city model. In order to follow chronologically with the development of the model, are addressed the theoretical approaches of "Le Corbusier", and a brief analysis of his linear industrial city model.

Once the theoretical bases were established, we settled in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, after the fall of the economic model of rural development and the massive exodus of rural settlements to cities. Where a territorial restructuring of the entire country is proposed to try to solve the residential and equipment problems in large cities. This restructuring separates the Russian theorists into two branches, urbanists and disurbanists. The study and analysis will be center on the development of linear approaches to territorial management by the disurbanist, as well as their ideas and proposals for the new socialist city.

Finally, in order to obtain conclusions about the validity of the model, a series of projects subsequent to those are proposed, which continue with the line of thought initiated with Arturo Soria and Le Corbusier. With this small list of projects, we can see how the great utopian models have been bounded and what has been the application of the linear model today.
