La construcción del Jardín del Turia

Abstract

[ES] La conversión del antiguo cauce del Turia a su paso por la ciudad de Valencia, en un parque urbano lineal sin precedentes, supone un hito clave para la ciudad. No puede entenderse la Valencia contemporánea sin el jardín del Turia, llegando a convertirse en el pulmón de la ciudad y dota a la misma de diferentes espacios verdes y dotacionales a lo largo de su recorrido. Por lo tanto, se explica el desarrollo del río Turia durante su historia, cómo llegó a ejecutarse el jardín en el antiguo cauce y la repercusión del proyecto para la ciudad de Valencia.

[EN] The transformation of the old bed of the river trought the city of Valencia, in an urban and lineal park unprecedented, has been a key landmark for the city. It is not possible to understand the contemporary Valencia, without the Turia¿s garden, even it has become the lung of the city, that equips with different green areas and equipped buildings along its way. Therefore, the development of the Turia River during its history is explained, how the garden was executed in the old bed of the river and the repercussion of the project for the city of Valencia.
