La SPAB (Society for Protection of Ancient Buildings): su recorrido hasta la actualidad y su vigencia en la conservación del siglo XXI

Abstract

[CA] L’objectiu d’aquest treball és un acostament a la SPB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings), analitzant com i per què sorgix, el seu recorregut historic, evolució al llarg del temps I quines són les seues funcions I objectius en l’actualitat. També s’estudiaràn alters institucions similar que existeixen a Anglaterra I les que han anat surgint a Espanya. Després d’haver aprofundit en la SPAB, s’analitzen diversos casos de restauració i es prova si en ells es complixen una sèrie de principis extrets de les institucions.

[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo es un profundo acercamiento a la SPAB (Society for Protection of Ancient Buildings), analizando cómo y por qué surge, su recorrido histórico, evolución a lo largo del tiempo y cuáles son sus funciones y objetivos en la actualidad. También se estudiarán otras instituciones similares que existen en Inglaterra y las que han ido surgiendo en España. Después de haber profundizado en la SPAB, se analizan varios casos de restauración y se comprueba si en ellos se cumplen una serie de principios extraídos de las instituciones estudiadas.

[EN] The objective of this essay is the understanding of the SPAB (Society for Protection of Ancient Buildings), analyzing how and why it was founded, its history, evolution and which are its functions and objectives nowadays. Other similar institutions in England and in Spain will also be studied. After this review about the SPAB, some restoration cases will be analyzed, proving if they keep some of the values taken from this organizations studied before.
