Infraestructura de acogida portuaria. Reinterpretando el paisaje marítimo

Abstract

[ES] El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo resolver las necesidades de acogida portuaria como terminal marítima y ofrecer un espacio urbano de carácter público donde convivan pasajeros, turistas y ciudadanos, potenciando una de las identidades culturales de Valencia; la relación con el mar.

La terminal de pasajeros se sitúa en relación directa con la ciudad, conectada con un sistema de plataformas que permiten recorrer el lugar en sus múltiples estratos; teniendo a la vez lugar la espera y el embarque, así como la recepción de los nuevos pasajeros que llegan a la ciudad habitando este lugar de acogida.

La infraestructura se extiende vinculándose con la memoria del lugar, recuperando el paisaje de los astilleros navales, y reintepretando el antiguo ostrero en el Paseo de Caro. Para ello, se generan una serie de recorridos y espacios donde se puede disfrutar de la ciudad y del puerto, a través del proceso de cultivo del tradicional molusco valenciano clòtxina en todas sus fases de desarrollo; desde el filtrado del agua de mar con algas, crianza mediante bateas, y la adecuada depuración hasta su degustación gastronómica; todo ello en un contexto portuario donde la ciudad se abre al mar haciendo posible el disfrute de la misma.

[EN] The present project aims at meeting the reception needs of a maritime terminal and at offering a public urban area where passengers, tourists and citizens get together while fostering one of Valencia s cultural identities: its connection with the sea.

The location of the passenger terminal is directly connected to the city through a platform system which makes it possible to go through the different elements of the place and which takes into consideration the wait, the boarding and the welcoming of new passengers who arrive in the city in order to take up this reception place.

The infrastructure opens out to bind with the memory of the place together, getting the landscape of the shipyards back and reinterpreting the former oyster bed located at the promenade known as Paseo del Caro. For such purpose, a variety of routes and areas have been created so that both the city and the port can be enjoyed at the same time that the growing process of Valencia s traditional mussel, commonly known as clòtxina, takes place. Such process, which includes the filtering of water with seaweed, the growing of mussels on wooden platforms, the purifying process and the tasting, is carried out within a port context where the city welcomes the sea making it possible to enjoy both of them.
