Diseño y desarrollo de un software para la segmentacion de estructuras cerebrales en Parkinson

Abstract

[ES] En este proyecto se pretende diseñar y desarrollar un software para la segmentacion de estructuras cerebrales relacionadas con el Parkinson a partir de imagenes de RM potenciadas en T2.

Las tareas del alumno/a seran las siguientes:

1- Segmentar a mano un conjunto de imagenes de RM usando la herramienta ITK-SNAP. 2- Desarrollo de un programa en Matlab para la segmentacion de 3 estructuras especificas (sustancia negra,nucleo rojo y nucleo subtalamico) involucradas en la aparicion y desarrollo de la enfermedad de Parkinson. Para ello el alumno dispondra de numerosos modulos de matlab ya desarrollados. 3- Validacion y documentacion de la herramienta desarrollada.

[EN] The aim of this project is to design and develop a software for the segmentation of brain structures related to Parkinson's from T2-weighted MR imaging.

The student's tasks will be as follows:

1- Manually segment a set of MR images using the ITK-SNAP tool. 2- Development of a program in Matlab for the segmentation of 3 specific structures (substantia nigra, red nucleus and subtalamic nucleus) involved in the onset and development of Parkinson's disease. For this the student will use numerous modules of matlab already developed. 3- Validation and documentation of the developed tool.
