El monje y el tetramorfos. Una reconstrucción iconográfica

Abstract

El proyecto consiste en la realización de una serie de obras pictóricas cuya temática se inspira en elementos iconográficos cristianos representativos de la época medieval. El concepto pictórico se define tratando de fusionar elementos estéticos de las miniaturas y las vidrieras principalmente, y rasgos estilísticos de varios movimientos de las primeras vanguardias de principios del siglo XX, como el fauvismo, el cubismo o el futurismo, entre otros. En el plano teórico se realiza un análisis de los aspectos conceptuales que engloban a los referentes iconográficos utilizados, tales como el uso del ornamento, de la línea negra como recurso constructor de formas, el equilibrio de los pesos cromáticos, el dinamismo de los elementos representados o la interrelación entre figuración y abstracción.

The project consists in the realization of a series of pictorial works whose theme is inspired by iconographic Christian elements representative of the medieval era. The pictorial concept is defined trying to merge aesthetic elements of the miniatures and stained glass mainly, and stylistic features of various movements of the early avant-garde of the early twentieth century, such as Fauvism, Cubism or Futurism, among others. At the theoretical level, an analysis of the conceptual aspects that encompass the iconographic references used is carried out, such as the use of ornament, the black line as a shape-building resource, the balance of chromatic weights, the dynamism of the elements depicted or the interrelationship between figuration and abstraction.
