ORA ZERO! Un ensayo audiovisual

Abstract

[ES] El ensayo audiovisual titulado Ora zero! refleja determinadas situaciones de la ciudad de Taranto (Italia) y de sus habitantes, centrándose principalmente en los problemas sociales y medioambientales que sufre el entorno inmediato del complejo industrial Ilva (hoy propiedad de ArcerlorMittal), el mayor centro siderúrgico de Europa. El trabajo explora en primer lugar el concepto de metáfora y lo analiza como una forma de pensamiento que enriquece el lenguaje semántico convencional, incluyendo el fílmico. Posteriormente, alienta un dialogo entre metáforas visivas empleando la practica audiovisual desde un enfoque ensayístico, bajo la premisa de que esta práctica artística es la mejor manera de trabajar con imágenes a fin de establecer un discurso subjetivo, informativo y crítico.

[EN] The audiovisual essay entitled Ora zero! reflects certain situations of the city of Taranto (Italy) and its inhabitants, focusing mainly on the social and environmental problems suffered by the immediate surroundings of the industrial complex Ilva (today owned by ArcerlorMittal), Europe's largest steel centre. The work first explores the concept of metaphor and analyzes it as a way of thinking that enriches conventional semantic language, including filmic. Subsequently, it encourages a dialogue between visual metaphors using audiovisual practice from an essay approach, under the premise that this artistic practice is the best way to work with images with a view to establishing a subjective, informative and critical discourse.
