Un estudio de imágenes de prensa sobre inmigración desde la perspectiva de la gramática multimodal

Abstract

[ES] La inmigración es un tema que ha estado presente a lo largo de la historia en distintos países siendo fuente de numerosas noticias a nivel nacional e internacional y protagonista en debates de carácter político. La figura del inmigrante ha estado expuesta en distintos medios de comunicación y este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizarla a través de las fotografías que distintos periódicos online incluyen en sus noticias. Se ha analizado un total de 55 fotografías procedentes de distintos periódicos digitales con ideologías distintas. La propuesta de este trabajo es analizar las fotografías y determinar si la imagen del inmigrante se representa de una forma u otra dependiendo del periódico y de su ideología. El contexto teórico en el cual se ha desarrollado el análisis de las imágenes es el de la Gramática Visual. Los resultados que se han obtenido de estas fotografías refutan la hipótesis de que cada diario representa la imagen del inmigrante de acuerdo con sus convicciones políticas.

[EN] Immigration is an important issue that has been being the source of numerous national and international news as well as leading political debates. The figure of the immigrant has been exposed in different media and this work aims to analyze it through the photographs that different online newspapers include in their news. A total of 55 photographs from different digital newspapers with different ideologies have been analyzed. The proposal of this work is to analyze the photographs and determine if the image of the immigrant is represented in one way or another depending on the newspaper and its ideology. The theoretical context in which the analysis of the images has been developed is the Visual Grammar. The results obtained from these photographs refute the hypothesis that each newspaper represents the image of the immigrant according to his political convictions.
