Advertencia salvaje de animales

Abstract

[EN] I like to observe animals since I was a child. After going to the zoo for the first time, I was curious about the animals; since then they have inspired me. In my works, I like to use animals as protagonists of the stories I generate. Therefore, I have also chosen to use animals as the theme of the artistic creation of this Master's thesis.

At first I was only curious about the appearance of animals, and I used to paint my favorite animals. In my past works, the stories I presented approached the fauna without giving them a special meaning. Although these works were full of such animals, some topic of discussion related to them did not arise or attract attention. At that time, the animals for me were a feeling of joy, beings that accompanied the humans, that entertained them or interested them to contemplate them, they did not suggest a special attraction. Until I started watching documentaries about animals, I started to introduce myself to the topic of animal ecology and began to open up in me, a deeper understanding of the animal world.

Because I like animals, I usually pay attention to problems related to them. Along with the awareness of the protection of the environment and animals in recent years, my curiosity for animals is not only limited to the appearance of animals in themselves and the ecosystem, but also to the impact of people on the environment. nature and conflicts between the human world that is in the process of development affecting the animal world. Due to the influence of man on the ecosystem so maintained over time, we can feel for decades the natural counterattack of the planet through natural disasters such as global warming which increases tsunamis, hurricanes, etc. Due to these natural disasters, I began to think about how terrible the consequences would be for man if the tables were turned and it was the animals that destroyed the human habitat, its ecosystem or its life in general, that is, a large-scale counterattack towards the people.

With this idea, I decided to take the direction of the creation of the present work. I hope my work brings warnings, but I do not want the image to be bloody or sentimental. Therefore, in the composition, I try to add children's toys as an object of destruction, or expand the degree of damage of domesticated animals to humans. I use interesting images to compare how serious human damage is to animals, and to convey the importance of balance through these creations.

The creative technique of my work is expressed in the form of engraving. The reason for the engraving choice is because I belonged to the engraving group during my university period in Taiwan. I have studied xylography, intaglio, serigraphy and offsetgraphy, that is why I have certain concepts and basic experiences of engraving, and it is more familiar to me than other techniques when it comes to creating. In this series I make an artistic presentation in the form of woodcut combined with offsetgraphy and lithography, investigating the different production processes between traditional engraving techniques and modern lithography, and related applications. I use traditional engraving techniques and modern lithography techniques combining them to achieve a new look, and expecting a contemporary result with traditional techniques.

[ES] Me gusta observar animales desde que era niño. Después de ir al jardín zoológico por primera vez, sentí curiosidad por los animales; desde entonces éstos me han servido de inspiración. En mis trabajos, me gusta usar a los animales como protagonistas de las historias que genero. Por lo tanto, también he elegido utilizar a los animales como tema de la creación artística de este trabajo de fin de Máster.

Al principio sólo sentía curiosidad por la apariencia de los animales, y solía pintar a mis animales favoritos. En mis obras pasadas, las historias que presentaba se acercaban a la fauna sin otorgarles un significado en especial. Aunque dichas obras estaban repletas de tales animales , no me surgía o llamaba la atención algún tema de discusión relacionado con ellos. En esa época, los animales para mi eran una sensación de alegría, seres que acompañaban a los humanos, que les entretenían o les interesaban para poder contemplarlos, no me sugerían una atracción especial. Hasta que empecé a ver documentales sobre animales, me empecé a introducir en el tema de la ecología animal y se empezó a abrir en mí, una compresión más profunda sobre el mundo animal.

Debido a que me gustan los animales, generalmente presto atención a los problemas relacionados con ellos. Junto a la conciencia de la protección del medio ambiente y de los animales en los últimos años, mi curiosidad por los animales no sólo se limita a la apariencia de éstos en sí mismos y al ecosistema, sino que también al impacto de la gente en la naturaleza y a los conflictos entre el mundo humano que está en proceso de desarrollo afectando al mundo animal. Por la influencia del hombre sobre el ecosistema tan mantenida en el tiempo, podemos sentir desde hace décadas el contraataque natural del planeta mediante desastres naturales como son el calentamiento global el cual incrementa los tsunamis, los huracanes, etc. Debido a estos desastres naturales, comencé a pensar en cuán terribles serían las consecuencias para el hombre si se girasen las tornas y fueran los animales quienes destruyeran el hábitat humano, su ecosistema o su vida en general, es decir un contraataque a gran escala hacia las personas.

Con esta idea, decidí toma la dirección de la creación de la presente obra. Espero que mi trabajo traiga advertencias, pero no quiero que la imagen sea sangrienta o sentimental. Por lo tanto, en la composición, intento agregar juguetes infantiles como objeto de destrucción, o ampliar el grado de daño de los animales domesticados a los humanos. Utilizo imágenes interesantes para comparar qué tan grave es el daño humano a los animales, y que se transmita la importancia del equilibrio a través de estas creaciones.

La técnica creativa de mi obra se expresa en forma de grabado. El motivo de la elección de grabado es debido a que pertenecí al grupo de grabado durante mi período universitario en Taiwán. He estudiado xilografía, calcografía, serigrafía y offsetgrafía , por eso tengo ciertos conceptos y experiencias básicas del grabado, y me es más familiar que otras técnicas a la hora de crear. En esta serie hago una presentación artística en forma de xilografía combinada con offsetgrafía y litografía, investigando los diferentes procesos de producción entre las técnicas tradicionales de grabado y la litografía moderna, y las aplicaciones relacionadas. Utilizo técnicas tradicionales de grabado y técnicas modernas de litografía combinándolas entre sí para lograr un nuevo aspecto, y esperando un resultado contemporáneo con técnicas tradicionales.
