Por una arquitectura moderna "gaúcha": aproximación constructiva y estudio de conservación del mercado CEASA/RS (Porto Alegre, Brasil)

Abstract

[ES] La representatividad que la arquitectura moderna ha tenido como movimiento de vanguardia, generando cambios permanentes en la manera de proyectar y construir, es notable por la transformación que ha introducido a la percepción y organización de los edificios. Además, cada sitio puede aportar sus propias características a un tipo de modelo arquitectónico más básico, pero que responde a las necesidades de cada programa de manera bastante específica. La cuestión de un menor distanciamiento temporal, por más que la importancia de este tipo de construcciones sea visible, hace que todavía sea una dificultad entender que también se trata de un patrimonio consolidado, con las necesidades de conservación y protección. De esta manera, se busca estudiar un ejemplo en concreto que enseñe las características de este tipo de arquitectura que se trata de analizar. El objeto de este estudio es el complejo de la CEASA/RS (Centrales de Abastecimiento), estructura del mercado de abastos central que comercializa productos provenientes de la agricultura y ganadería local del estado más al sur de Brasil. Con su organización en pabellones que reciben actividades diferentes y otras funcionalidades de apoyo, este complejo es un ejemplo de arquitectura moderna que se destaca por su atento planeamiento del espacio y, principalmente, por la calidad estética de sus estructuras de cubiertas, realizadas en bóvedas tabicadas y otras técnicas semejantes. Como objetivos principales de este trabajo se pueden resaltar la investigación de la huella de la arquitectura moderna en la región más al sur de Brasil, el estudio de la importancia de la trayectoria de los arquitectos responsables por la obra, la comprensión del proyecto y la manera con que el complejo ha impactado su entorno, el conocimiento de sus técnicas constructivas y la percepción del estado actual de los edificios propuestos. La metodología utilizada propone hacer una revisión bibliográfica sobre el asunto inicialmente, seguida de la elaboración de fichas del estado del edificio que, al ser analizadas, generan planteamientos de cómo proteger el objeto. También se propondrán medidas de conservación y posibles desarrollos de la investigación. En las fases del trabajo se pueden incluir la obtención de materiales sobre el proyecto y el edificio, la organización de esas fuentes y la producción de contenido sobre el conjunto, finalizando con la propuesta del plan de conservación.

[EN] The representativeness that modern architecture has had as a vanguard movement, generating permanent changes in the way of projecting and building, is notable for the transformation it has introduced to the perception and organization of buildings. In addition, each site can provide its own characteristics to a more basic type of architectural model, but which responds to the needs of each program in a very specific way. The question of a temporary minor distancing, even though the importance of this type of construction is visible, makes it still difficult to understand that it is also a consolidated heritage, with the need for conservation and protection. In this way, we seek to study a specific example that teaches the characteristics of this type of architecture that is analyzed. The object of this study is the complex of CEASA/RS (Supply Centers), a structure of the central supply market that sells products from agriculture and local livestock in the southernmost state of Brazil. With its organization in pavilions that receive different activities and other support functions, this complex is an example of modern architecture that stands out for its careful planning of the space and, mainly, for the aesthetic quality of its roof structures, made in vaults and other similar techniques. The main objectives of this work can be highlighted the investigation of the footprint of modern architecture in the southernmost region of Brazil, the study of the importance of the path of the architects responsible for the work, the understanding of the project and the way with which the complex has impacted its surroundings, the knowledge of its constructive techniques and the perception of the current state of the proposed buildings. The methodology used proposes a literature review on the subject initially, followed by the development of building status files that, when analyzed, generate proposals on how to protect the object. Conservation measures and possible developments of the investigation will also be proposed. In the phases of the work it can include the obtaining of materials on the project and the building, the organization of those sources and the production of content on the set, ending with the proposal of the conservation plan.
