[EN] Every space mission starts from a simple outline of the project that is intended to be carried out. This document reports the contents and the operation system of a computer tool capable of computing first trajectory approaches for orbital transfers, within the same planetary system or for interplanetary transfers.
The orbital mechanics concepts used in the calculations are briefly introduced, as well as the solution of some classic problems such as the problem of two bodies or the
Lambert problem.
After that it continues with a brief description of the internal operation of the tool. The procedure followed to solve each one of the problems set during its programming is detailed, along with the input arguments required by the program and the returned parameters and its interpretation.
Finally, a case study is presented as an example of the application of the tool: the design of the trajectory of an interplanetary mission to one of Jupiter s satellites, Europa.
An introduction to the general features of the Jovian system is made, where some particularities of Europe are exposed and the transfer trajectory is calculated using the different methods available and after the results are analyzed.
