Turias Line. Espacio para las artes creativas

Abstract

[ES] Una puerta a la ciudad, un gran mirador público al que se asciende a través de un paseo pautado que transita por los hitos del patrimonio industrial y sedero valenciano; todo sobre un lugar en el que se recuperan vestigios del pasado que narran la historia de la ciudad.

Se concibe como un equipamiento interdisciplinar que acompaña a los creadores en las diferentes etapas del proceso artístico: investigar, aprender, experimentar, crear, producir, mostrar y compartir. Espacios versátiles y flexibles que permiten el desarrollo de proyectos en el ámbito de la pintura, escultura, artesanía cerámica, confección y audiovisuales. De forma paralela al uso interno del centro, se diseña un recorrido que permite a los ciudadanos descubrir y formar parte de la secuencia artística, sentir el arte y potenciar la creatividad; enlazando además en el último tramo el centro con el Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno.

En la fachada recayente al antiguo cauce del río Turia el volumen adquiere un carácter de fortaleza, recuperando sensorialmente la memoria colectiva del lugar; abriéndose el edificio hacia una plaza interior que conecta con el barrio del Carmen. En una atmósfera idónea para el encuentro, la interacción y la inspiración.

[EN] A door to the city, a large public viewpoint that rises through a promenade that crosses the landmarks of the industrial heritage and of the Valencian silk; all on a place where vestiges of the past are recovered that tell the history of the city.

It is conceived as an interdisciplinary centre that accompanies the creators in the different stages of the artistic process: to investigate, to learn, to experiment, to create, to produce, to show and to share. Versatile and flexible spaces that allow the development of projects in the area of painting, sculpture, ceramic crafts, textile and audiovisuals. Parallel to the internal use of the centre, a route is designed that allows citizens to discover and be part of the artistic sequence, feel the art and enhance creativity; linking also in the last section the centre with the Valencian Institute of Modern Art.

In the façade of the old Turia riverbed the volume acquires a character of fortress, sensorially recovering the collective memory of the place; opening the building towards an interior plaza that connects with the Carmen neighbourhood. In an atmosphere suitable for encounter, interaction and inspiration.
