Horizonte. Rehabilitación y ampliación de la Alquería Falcó como Centro Cultural Tradicional

Abstract

[ES] La huerta representa el paisaje norte de la ciudad de Valencia debido a la relevancia que ha tenido la actividad agraria durante varias décadas. La huerta está formada por los elementos naturales de cultivo y elementos artificiales que estructuran el paisaje por medio de la red de acequias de regadío, caminos y la arquitectura tradicional, formada principalmente por la alquería, la masía y la barraca. La huerta y su arquitectura han ido degradándose progresivamente debido al crecimiento de la ciudad y la evolución de la forma de vida de las personas. El norte de la ciudad está limitado por la Ronda Norte, la cual configura una barrera entre el paisaje agrícola y el paisaje urbano. De este modo, el presente trabajo tiene como objeto, en primer lugar, la ordenación del límite norte de la ciudad, entendiéndose como un espacio de transición y relación entre la huerta y el núcleo urbano, recuperando el paisaje de cultivo e integrándolo en la ciudad. En segundo lugar, se proyecta la rehabilitación y ampliación de la Alquería Falcó como Centro Cultural Tradicional, cuya función principal es la experimentación de la agricultura, la artesanía y la tradición a través de un programa intergeneracional.

[EN] The huerta represents the northern landscape of the city of Valencia due to the importance that the agricultural activity has had for several decades. The vegetable garden is formed by natural elements of cultivation and artificial elements that structure the landscape by means of the network of irrigation ditches, roads and the traditional architecture formed mainly by the alquería, masía and barraca. The huerta and its architecture have been progressively degraded due to the growth of the city and the evolution of the way of life of the people. The north of the city is limited by the Ronda Norte, which forms a barrier between the agricultural and urban landscape. In this way, the present work object is, firstly, the urban development project of the northern boundary of the city, being understood as a space of transition and relationship between the huerta and the urban centre recovering the landscape of cultivation and integrating it in the city. Secondly, the rehabilitation and expansion of the Alquería Falcó is planned as a Traditional Cultural Centre whose main function is the experimentation of agriculture, handicrafts and tradition through an intergenerational programme.
