Biblioteca Falcó. Biblioteca urbana multiespacio en Torrefiel

Abstract

[ES] La biblioteca Falcó situada en la zona norte del barrio Torrefiel es un edificio re-viviente que atenderá a las cualidades ambientales y específicas del ecosistema del lugar. Este proyecto conectará la arquitectura tradicional, sólida y visible de la huerta valenciana, junto a un nuevo edificio en contraste, de características innovadoras, que apoyará el nuevo programa de Biblioteca. La recuperación del patrimonio se apoyará con la convivencia de usos que recupere la identidad incluyendo todas las características del lugar, siendo uno de los pocos solares donde aun preexiste parte de la huerta al otro lado de la Ronda. El programa planteado irá más allá del préstamo de libros de una biblioteca convencional, con el objetivo de crear unos espacios dinámicos donde se fomente el intercambio de conocimiento e ideas junto a la incorporación de las nuevas tecnologías. Además de impulsar la relación de intergeneracionalidad que podrá surgir en cada uno de los espacios planteados en proyecto.

[EN] Falco library, located in the northern part of Torrefiel area, is a reviving building which would improve the environmental qualities and characteristics of the context. This project is the link to connect the vernacular architecture, which is solid and visible, typical of the Valencian Huerta, and a new contrasting and innovative building, which would accomplish to the new program of the library. At the one hand the collective identity of the surroundings, and the reuse of empty spaces would be improved, on the other hand this process would affect a mental appropriation of the cultural heritage.The recovery of the patrimony will be supported with the coexistence of uses that recover the identity including all the characteristics of the place, even being on the other side of Ronda. The planned program would take into account not only the conventional duties of a typical library, but also it has the objective to create dynamical spaces, which could inspire an exchange of knowledge and ideas, with the help of the emerging technologies. It could also ease the inter-generational relationship that are going to happen in the planned spaces of the project.
