Biblioteca en la huerta. Valencia Norte, nuevas centralidades

Abstract

[ES] El límite de la ciudad de Valencia en su cara norte, ha sido una asignatura pendiente durante los ultimos años. La huerta productiva, vinculada a la vida de los habitantes de la ciudad desde su origen, se ha visto deteriorada y olvidada en la planificación del crecimiento de la ciudad, buscando soluciones que la desconectan de la ciudad. La construcción de la ronda norte, supuso una herida enorme para todos los barrios que miran hacia el norte, además de dejar la relación con la huerta en una acera de metro y medio cerrada por una valla metálica.

Se propone un parque lineal, que sirva para recoser la ciudad y la huerta, creando un paseo y volviendo a revalorizar la zona norte de la ciudad. Las nuevas zonas verdes se proyectan como un jardín de distintas alturas, que suponga un manto verde de huerta productiva, que llega hasta los limites de los edificios y conecta los nuevos equipamientos entre ellos. Esta nueva sección protege el parque de el impacto visual y sonoro de la ronda norte y permitiendo las vistas sobre la huerta, generando nuevas relaciones espaciales y espacios de calidad que doten al barrio de vida. La necesidad de conexión entre la ciudad y la huerta se resuelve a través de pasos a nivel y puentes situados estratégicamente para conectar las principales arterias de la ciudad con los caminos tradicionales de la huerta y sus acequias. Estos nuevos equipamientos se sitúan todos en su extremo sur, limitando el crecimiento de la ciudad y mejorando su conexión con los barrios, además de permitirnos liberar el máximo espacio para huerta productiva. La biblioteca se articula en dos piezas, conectadas por una pasarela, que focaliza los accesos y se vertebran a través de las circulaciones. Se concibe como un edificio multifuncional, que pueda adaptarse a los distintos usos a lo largo del tiempo. El programa se sitúa en la parte norte, siempre en un espacio continuo y donde los planos horizontales generan distintas situaciones espaciales en función de sus usos. Los dos volúmenes se materializan en vidrio, permitiendo el continuo contacto visual con el entorno en todas sus caras.

[EN] The limit of the city of Valencia in its north side, has been a pending subject during the last years. The productive orchard, linked to the life of the inhabitants of the city since its inception, has been deteriorated and forgotten in the planning of the growth of the city, seeking solutions that disconnect it from the city. The construction of the north road, was a huge wound for all neighborhoods that look to the north, in addition to leaving the relationship with the orchard on a sidewalk and a half meter closed by a metal fence.

The proposal is a lineal park, which serves to connect the city and the garden, creating a walk and revaluing the northern area of the city. The new green areas are projected as a garden of different heights, that supposes a green mantle of productive orchard, that reaches the limits of the buildings and connects the new equipment between them. This new section protects the park from the visual and sound impact of the north round and allowing The views over the garden, generating new spatial relationships and spaces of quality that endow the neighborhood with life. The need for connection between the city and the garden is solved through level crossings and bridges strategically located to connect the main arteries of the city with the traditional roads of the garden and its ditches. These new facilities are all located at the southern end, limiting the growth of the city and improving its connection with the neighborhoods, as well as allowing us to free up the maximum space for productive gardens.

The library is articulated in two pieces, connected by a walkway, which focuses access and vertebrate through circulations. It is conceived as a multifunctional building, which can adapt to different uses over time. The program is located in the northern part, always in a continuous space and where the horizontal planes generate different spatial situations depending on their uses. The two volumes are materialized in glass, allowing continuous visual contact with the environment on all sides.
