Los grandes referentes de la arquitectura no han sido siempre edificios materializados. Algunos de ellos fueron simplemente proyectos que no se llegaron a construir o demolidos muy pronto por su carácter temporal. Sin embargo, muchas de estas obras han contribuido de manera significativa en la evolución de la arquitectura y su entendimiento, pues, aun estando solo en papel, tuvieron la capacidad de ser debatidas e influir en el pensamiento arquitectónico.

La obra que en este documento se va a estudiar y a «reconstruir» es el proyecto de Museo de Arte Moderno de Caracas, proyectado en 1955 pero jamás construido. Su arquitecto, Oscar Niemeyer, es sin duda una de las figuras más importantes de la arquitectura moderna internacional, cuya obra, innovadora y singular, puso a prueba la gravedad con sus formas simbólicas.

La importancia de este proyecto radica en que su concepción significó un cambio en la dirección del trabajo de Niemeyer, despertando en él un interés por las formas plásticas y geométricas puras. Este proceso de cambio, daría lugar a las bases de los proyectos que más tarde materializaría en la nueva ciudad de Brasilia.

La reconstrucción de este edificio se llevará a cabo mediante diversos programas informáticos. En este proceso de descubrimiento primero se investigará y buscará toda la información disponible. Posteriormente se interpretará para después pasar a la fase de reconstrucción de la obra generando finalmente toda una serie de documentación gráfica que, de forma adecuada y precisa, nos permita entender el edificio.

The great referents of architecture have not always been materialized buildings. Some of them were simply projects that were not built or that were demolished very soon because of their temporary nature. However, many of these works have contributed significantly to the evolution of architecture and its understanding, since, even being only on paper, they had the ability to be debated and to nfluence architectural thinking.

The work that is going to be studied and ¿reconstructed¿ in this document is the project of the Modern Art Museum of Caracas, designed in 1955 but never built. Its architect, Oscar Niemeyer, is undoubtedly one of the most important figures in international modern architecture, whose work, innovative and unique, put gravity to the test with its symbolic forms.

The importance of this project is that its conception meant a change in the direction of Niemeyer¿s work, awakening in him an interest in pure plastic and geometric forms. This process of change, would give rise to the bases of the projects that would later materialize in the new city of Brasilia.

The reconstruction of this building will be carried out through various computer programs. In this discovery process, all the available information will be investigated and searched. Later it will be interpreted to later go to the reconstruction phase of the work finally generating a series of graphic documentation that, in an adequate and precise way, allows us to understand the building.
