Abstract

[ES] En un mundo cada vez más globalizado la tendencia es la homogeneización cultural. Esto conlleva un detrimento de la esencia de cada región debido a las rápidas y bruscas transformaciones que sufre tanto la arquitectura vernácula, como el paisaje y el territorio tradicional. En definitiva, supone la pérdida de Patrimonio con los efectos contraproducentes a nivel social y cultural que esto implica.

Debe, por tanto, ser una prioridad en nuestros días la sensibilización y concienciación de la población en la necesidad de revitalizar este Patrimonio existente, reconociendo la diversidad cultural y teniendo como principal objetivo el factor humano, es decir, la mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas.

A lo largo de la historia han sido muchos los manifiestos y cartas que se han divulgado con el objetivo de proteger esta memoria histórica y de conseguir su adaptación a la vida contemporánea. Para ello, es necesario destinar unos fondos económicos de los que carecen las poblaciones desfavorecidas o subdesarrolladas.

Este trabajo pretende ser un acercamiento a la Cooperación al Desarrollo Internacional, entendiendo, en primera instancia, su compleja estructura. Seguidamente, se centra en los proyectos y acciones, que se llevan a cabo con el fin de recuperar una arquitectura vernácula. Y que plantean, además, la utilización de este Patrimonio como mecanismo promotor de un desarrollo sostenible, en todos los ámbitos, económico y social. Se analizará su proceso y metodología general, definiendo los principios básicos de estas intervenciones.

Concluye, con el estudio de una figura en concreto, y su labor en el ámbito internacional: Ugo Tonietti. Arquitecto y profesor de la Universidad de Florencia, que ha dedicado sus investigaciones a estrategias de conservación de edificios construidos con materiales tradicionales y que destaca por su labor como consultor en la protección del Patrimonio.

[EN] In an increasingly globalized world cultural homogenization is the main trend. This entails a detriment of the essence of each region due to the rapid and abrupt transformations which has suffered the vernacular architecture, the landscape and the traditional territory. Briefly, it means not only the loss of heritage but also the counterproductive effects at a social level that this implies.

Therefore, in our days it should be a priority the raising awareness of the population regarding the need to revitalise this existing Heritage, by recognizing cultural diversity and having as its main objective the human factor, particularly, improvement of the quality of life in people. Throughout history there have been many manifestos and letters that have been spread with the aim of protecting the historical memory and achieving its adaptation to contemporary life. For this reason, it is necessary to allocate some economic funds to this disadvantaged or underdeveloped population who has a lack of them.

This research aims to be an approach to the International Development Cooperation. First, we will try to understand its complex structure. Then, we will focus on different projects and actions, which are carried out in order to recover a vernacular architecture, as well as, in the use of this Heritage as a mechanism to promote sustainable development in the economic and social areas. Furthermore, it will be also analysed the process and general methodology by defining the basic principles of these interventions.

Finally, this research will conclude with the study of a specific model, Ugo Tonietti, and his work in the international level. He is an architect and a professor at the University of Florence, who has devoted his research to the study of conservation strategies in buildings built with traditional materials. He also stands out for his work as a consultant in the protection of heritage.
