Louis I. Kahn: Il grand tour

Abstract

[ES] Dibujante, pintor y arquitecto, una peculiar mirada que se traduce en su sensibilidad, sus intereses e impresiones subjetivas de los lugares que visita durante su personal Gran Tour. Louis I. Kahn centra su experiencia en la elaboración del dibujo: elección del punto de vista, técnicas a emplear, selección de los modelos arquitectónicos. Circunstancia que queda impresa al no emplear los mecanismos más habituales en el estudio arquitectónico, como es el dibujo de plantas, alzados y axonometrías. Es por ello que se propone el desarrollo de un análisis gráfico de los espacios y enclaves que este maestro decidió captar en su cuaderno de bitácora en su itinerario por la Italia del siglo pasado. En busca de las respuestas a las cuestiones que suscitan sus singulares ilustraciones: ¿Faltan dibujos? ¿Por qué dibujó aquello y no lo otro? ¿Dónde se sitúan exactamente? ¿Existen coincidencias con personajes que hayan representado estos lugares? ¿Qué cuestiones quedan reflejadas en su obra arquitectónica?

[EN] Graphic artist, painter and architect, a peculiar look that can be translate into his sensitivity, his subjective impressions of the places he visits during his personal Gran Tour. Louis I. Kahn involves his experience by focusing on the process of drawing: the choice from the point of view, techniques to be used, selection of architectural models. A circumstance that is printed by not using the most common mechanisms in the architectural study, like the drawing of plants, elevations and axonometry. That is the reason why he develops the analysis of the graphic spaces and enclaves that the teacher decided to capture in his logbook on his itinerary trough the Italy of the last century. In search of the answers to the questions raised by his unique illustrations: Are there drawings missing? Why did he draw this and not something else? Where are they exactly located? Are there coincidences with characters that have represented these places? Which questions are reflected in your architectural work?
