Costa Mediterránea. Reciclando Infraestructuras: Sidi Saler

Abstract

[ES] En el año 1970 se planteó la construcción de un complejo residencial en la Devesa del Saler, sin embargo finalmente solo se edificó parte de él. Uno de los elementos construidos fue el hotel “Sidi Saler”. Se colocó a apenas 100 metros de la orilla del mar, destruyendo a su paso todos los elementos naturales de la zona. Desde el 2012 el hotel permanece cerrado, y no se espera que se vuelva a abrir en un futuro próximo. El objetivo de este proyecto es recuperar el paisaje original de la zona, como las dunas y las zonas forestales que fueron eliminadas. Tomando el “Sidi Saler” como punto de partida, se pretende otorgar una “segunda vida” a este edificio. Será reconvertido en “artefacto” que funcionará mano a mano con su entorno natural. Su interior, dotado de un programa flexible y abierto, enriquecerá el vecindario y generará un nuevo punto de encuentro para los visitantes de la zona.

[EN] In the 1970s a massive residential area was planned in la Devesa Del Saler, but in the end only part of it was built. One of those constructed elements was the `Sidi Saler¿ hotel. It was placed only 100 metres away from the beach, destroying all of the natural elements which were near it. Since 2012 the hotel has been closed, and currently no re-opening is planned. The objective of this project is to recover the original landscape of la Devesa Del Saler, such as the dunes and forest areas which were erased. Using the `Sidi Saler¿ hotel as a starting point, a second life will be given to this building. It will be transformed into `artefact¿ which will work hand by hand with nature. Inside it new facilities will be placed which will enrich the neighborhood and it will serve as a new meeting point for the visitors of the area.
