Carbon emissions' analysis due to traffic jams in highways' lane closures

Abstract

[EN] There are several objectives pursued in this project. The main objective in which this paper is focused is the evaluation of the impact of lane closures in a highway due to roadwork activities on CO2 emissions. To do so, it is required to define measures to optimize the system so the carbon emissions can be reduced. Other objectives that have been defined are the application of the results obtained and their evaluation in order to accomplish another objective, which is to assist the decision makers by developing policies for controlling the economic impact of the CO2 emissions of the proposed system.
