Regenerando espacios: Los baños árabes del Portal de les Granotes

Abstract

[ES] Sagunto es una ciudad localizada al norte de la provincia de Valencia. Compuesta por dos núcleos, el casco histórico y el Puerto, siendo en este último donde se concentra la mayoría de la población y la industria. En este trabajo final de máster nos vamos a centrar en el casco histórico, el cual tiene gran potencial tanto histórico como cultural, pero que a su vez presenta un estado de degradación elevado, ya sea por la antigüedad de las viviendas o el difícil acceso a éstas. Por tanto, este trabajo está compuesto por varias fases, siendo la primera fase de análisis, donde se exponen los puntos fuertes y débiles de la zona a intervenir, la segunda fase, de posible propuesta de intervención a nivel de barrio y la última fase, de intervención en una zona mayor acotada, dando valor a las ruinas de los baños árabes del Portal de les Granotes y a sus alrededores, los cuales se encuentran desconocidos y ocultos.

[EN] Sagunto is a city located in the north of the province of Valencia. Composed by two nucleus, the historical center and the Port, being this last one where the majority of the population and the industry are concentrated. In this master's final project, we are going to focus on the historical center, which has great historical and cultural potential, but at the same time presents a state of high degradation, either due to the age of the dwellings or the difficult to access them. Therefore, this work is composed of several phases, being the first phase of analysis, which exposes the strengths and weaknesses of the area to intervene, the second phase of possible intervention proposal at the neighbourhood level and the last phase of intervention in a larger area, giving value to the ruins of the Arab baths of the Portal de les Granotes and its surroundings, which are unknown and hidden.
