[EN] The content of this project is the Preliminary design of a portable turntable stand for painting
motorboats with the length up to 8 m. The purpose of this design is to facilitate access to the
most extreme areas of the ship's hull. The mechanism that will be developed, carries out the
aforementioned function, with that, the user has the possibility of reaching the most remote
parts in order to paint the entire hull of the motorboat without difficulties. In addition, this
mechanism can also be used for small repairs and to store the boat in a garage.
In the following picture (Figure 1) it can be seen the traditional mechanism, it is a static
mechanism in which the user needs an additional element, such as a ladder, to reach the upper
parts of the ship's hull, in the same way, it is observed that the location of the lower areas is
also quite difficult to reach.
Therefore, as it have been said, the main objective will be to develop a gadget that facilitates
the reach of these remote areas. Moreover, this device must be portable and easy to use.
In summary, the scope of the study is, first, to know the operation of the devices that have been
used throughout history for the aforementioned function. Secondly, to know the specific
parameters of the ships for which the mechanism will be suitable, with this, the ship is modeled
with the measurements and the average mechanical loads, for this, is used data extracted directly
from the specification sheets that provide the leading manufacturers of motorboats. Later, it is
proceeded to modeling the chosen mechanism that is part of the solution. Then, the boatmechanism is assembled and a force study is carried out in order to know the most mechanically
requested areas, with this, if necessary, the section is increased or the design is modified, thus
avoiding critical zones and oversizing.

[ES] El objetivo del proyecto consiste en el diseño de un mecanismo que permita la rotación de las embarcaciones al momento de realizar el proceso de pintado, para facilitar el acceso a las áreas más remotas del casco del barco, este mecanismo está preparado para embarcaciones a motor con una longitud de hasta 8 m. El cuadro analizado debe cumplir los criterios de diseño. El alcance del proyecto incluye el desarrollo del concepto y luego el modelo geométrico con el uso de software CAD.
