La Plaza de la Estación: un lugar para el reencuentro

Abstract

[ES] Sagunto es el lugar escogido para implantar la estación intermodal que, más que una estación, con el proyecto se pretende transformar un espacio olvidado en calles y plazas públicas que permitan seguir haciendo ciudad. En primer lugar, ante la preocupación por la falta de conectividad, con la propuesta se pretende configurar una única ciudad mediante la reconexión de dos núcleos que configuran un mismo municipio: Sagunto y Puerto de Sagunto. Este factor permite entender a una escala urbana la unión entre ambos mediante ejes verdes que confluyen en grandes espacios verdes pertenecientes a la ciudad: La Plaza del Triángulo Umbral en el Puerto, y la nueva Plaza de la Estación en Sagunto. Con el proyecto se generan diversos espacios urbanos que se convertirán en el motor de diversas actividades propuestas en el pueblo, en consonancia con los espacios y las plazas ya existentes. Por un lado, se propone un centro polivalente vinculado con el eje educativo próximo al emplazamiento. Por otro lado, se plantea un edificio pasante administrativo así como una estación de autobuses y la propia estación del ferrocarril. Estos equipamientos surgen de la necesidad de potenciar el crecimiento y la actividad de una zona situada en un punto estratégico del municipio, junto a las vías del ferrocarril, y de la necesidad de transformarla en un espacio intercambiador y de unión entre un municipio de gran interés, tanto cultural como industrial. Será la intervención urbanística, mediante muros-guía, la encargada de configurar y de estructurar los ejes del proyecto. Tanto este factor como los espacios generados permiten regular el flujo de intercambios, convirtiéndose en el nexo de unión de un municipio desconectado.

In the first place, given the concern about the lack of connectivity, the proposal aims to set up a single city through the reconnection of two nuclei that make up the same municipality: Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto. This factor allows to understand at an urban scale the union between both by green axes that converge in large green spaces belonging to the city: The Plaza del Triángulo Umbral in the Port, and the new 'Plaza de la Estación' in Sagunto. The project generates various urban spaces that will become the engine of various activities proposed in the town, in line with existing spaces and places. On the one hand, a polyvalent center linked to the educational axis near the site is proposed. On the other hand, there is an administrative intern building as well as a bus station and the railway station itself. These facilities arise from the need to promote the growth and activity of an area located in a strategic point of the municipality, next to the railroad tracks, and the need to transform it into an interchange space and union between a municipality of great interest , both cultural and industrial. It will be the urban intervention, through walls-guide, responsible for configuring and structuring the axes of the project. Both this factor and the generated spaces allow to regulate the flow of exchanges, becoming the nexus of union of a disconnected municipality.
