[EN] The main goal of this paper or Independent Studies is the definition of Operational Risk Management. This includes its principles, its implementation process, guidelines and benefits. Furthermore, the aim of the course wasn’t just to understand and define risk management, but to read and analyze its different applications in business areas that were of close interest to me. By understanding some real examples in areas such as consulting, industry multinationals or even banking we could get a complete picture of how useful this method is, and the great range of applications that it has. In this paper you will read about the basics of Operational Risk Management in order to be able to understand the last part of the project, where different real examples concerning different areas and companies will be discussed. Due to the length restrictions of the project, we will only include one document per area, but as it will be discussed at the end of the paper, the actual course was a research work done together with the tutor by studying the different cases.
