Infraestructura de acogida portuaria : GREEN DOCK

Abstract

[ES] La línea de costa de la ciudad de Valencia se ha visto mermada con el paso de los años. Distintos intereses políticos y económicos han hecho que la industria y el comercio se hayan apoderado de los espacios costeros. Lo que una vez fue la playa de Nazaret, es hoy una conexión mercantil para un sinfín de vehículos cargados y trabajadores atareados. Inicialmente se plantea devolver la línea de costa, revitalizando y reconduciendo de un modo más natural el río, para así acoger y conectar los espacios desde la ciudad, la huerta sur hasta el Parque Natural de la Albufera. Un nuevo paisaje con formaciones dunares, donde el verde aflora fuerte, protegido de los vientos del mar. En esta intervención esa línea rígida es desvirtuada, transformándose en una bifurcación hasta perderse con el delta, como el final de un río.

El proyecto se ubica en el muelle de poniente, el lugar de transición entre el puerto de ocio y el puerto mercantil. Se aborda desde una perspectiva de la sostenibilidad, ecología y reutilización. Una gran infraestructura portuaria que acoge a los pasajeros que llegan por ferry, a los viandantes de la ciudad y a la vegetación desde la nueva línea de costa. Se organizan a distintas alturas espacios con usos ligados a la cultura y dispuestos al cambio, pero también espacios de uso libre. Un paisaje que se extiende desde la ciudad hasta el mar, transformándose por las distintas plataformas de esta infraestructura y que la convierte a su vez en un jardín a orillas del mar mediterráneo.

[EN] The coastline of the city of Valencia has been wasted away over the years. Different political and economic interests have made industry and commerce take over the coastal spaces. What once was the beach of Nazaret, today is a commercial connection for a endless loaded vehicles and busy workers. Initially, it is proposed to return the coastline, revitalizing and redirecting the river in a more natural way, in order to connect the spaces from the city, the southern orchard to Parque Natural de la Albufera. A new landscape with dune formations, where the green emerges strong, protected from the winds of the sea. But in this intervention that rigid line is distorted, becoming a bifurcation until losing itself with the delta, like the end of a river.

The project is located in the west pier, the place of transition between the port of leisure and the commercial port. It is approached from a perspective of sustainability, ecology and reuse. A large port infrastructure that host passengers arriving by ferry, pedestrians from the city and vegetation from the new coastline. Different spaces are organized at different levels with uses linked to culture and willing to change, but also spaces for free use. A landscape that extends from the city to the sea, being transformed by the different platforms of this infrastructure and that turns it into a garden on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
