[ES] Aviation safety is at the core of the fundamental Objectives of the entire air transport
community. They are constantly striving to further improve aviation’s successful safety
performance while maintaining a high level of capacity and efficiency. Even though accidents
cannot be predicted, it is important to have knowledge about the risks that aircrafts have to face
on the ground and during the flight to create these strategies, and how to act in case of accident.
The purpose of this is project is to perform a statistical analysis on risk and reliability of a family
of aircrafts from the so popular Boeing Company: the 737 fleet.
The project is going to be divided into three main parts. First, an introduction to the project
containing the following: a historical review of the evolution of the fleet with the characteristics
of each aircraft series, and the definitions of the main aviation concepts that will be used for
future calculations. The second part is a deep analysis of the database with the accidents that
happened between years 2002 and 2017, separated in different categories: number of fatalities,
aircraft series, lifetime until accident, phase of flight during which it happened and undesirable
event that led to it. To finish up, the third part includes the main risk analysis with the calculation
of the probabilities for each kind of accident and the conclusions achieved.[-]
