EX LIBRISEVOCACIÓN PLÁSTICA DE LA OBRA LITERARIA "LAS CIUDADES INVISIBLES" DE ITALO CALVINO

Abstract

[ES] Este proyecto consiste en una evocación plástica de la obra literaria "Las ciudades invisibles" de Italo Calvino. La serie pictórica resultante esta formada por doce obras en las que pintura y poesía se corresponden mediante una serie de paralelismos como el título y la metáfora, entre otros. De esta forma, partiendo de la imaginación subyacente en las letras, se ha confeccionado un lenguaje plástico para evocar las sensaciones sinestésicas y las composiciones de las doce ciudades que se han seleccionado tras un análisis del libro.

Para ello, previamente se ha realizado un estudio sobre las correspondencias entre poesía-pintura y otro en torno a "Las ciudades invisibles" y las diversas representaciones abstractas que se han hecho respecto a obra esta obra y la ciudad. A su vez, se ha llevado a cabo otro estudio sobre la retórica de la pintura y la potencia expresiva del color, la forma y la textura. Todo ello ha servido como base para formular unas premisas para la producción pictórica.

En efecto, entendiendo la propia pintura como si fuese un lenguaje semejante al escrito, se ha confeccionado una gramática plástica que no busca ilustrar las ciudades, sino evocarlas líricamente mediante la abstracción. Como resultado, la serie "Ex Libris" y las obras que la integran se asemejan más a una composición musical estrechamente relacionada con el libro, pero al mismo tiempo, dotadas de expresión autónoma.

[EN] This project consists of a plastic evocation of the literary work "Invisible Cities" by Italo Calvino. The resulting pictorial series is made up of twelve works in which painting and poetry correspond through a series of parallels such as title and metaphor, among others. In this way, from the imagination behind the letters, a plastic language was created to evoke the synesthetic sensations and the compositions of the twelve cities selected after an analysis of the book.

To do this, a study was previously carried out on the correspondences between the painting of poetry and another around "Invisible Cities" and the different abstract representations that were made regarding this work and the city. At the same time, another study was conducted on the rhetoric of painting and the expressive power of color, shape, and texture. All this served as the basis for the formulation of premises for pictorial production.

In fact, by understanding painting itself as if it were a language similar to writing, a plastic grammar was created that does not seek to illustrate cities, but to evoke them lyrically through abstraction. As a result, the "Ex Libris" series and the works that compose it are more like a musical composition closely related to the book, but at the same time, endowed with autonomous expression.
