ESTADO DE CONSERVACIÓN Y PROPUESTA VALORADA DEL PANTEÓN LATORRE-ANDRÉS.CEMENTERIO GENERAL DE VALENCIA

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo final de grado presenta el estudio del panteón de la familia Latorre-Andrés, el cual se encuentra ubicado en el Cementerio General de Valencia. El escultor de esta obra es Eugenio Carbonell Mir y fue realizada en su etapa estilística más modernista. Los materiales empleados son el mármol de Macael y el mármol de Carrara. El propósito de este trabajo fue evaluar el estado de conservación del panteón Latorre-Andrés y realizar una propuesta de intervención valorada. Además, se reivindica la necesidad de implementar estrategias que prevengan y conserven los monumentos funerarios situados en cementerios.

El arte funerario de los cementerios representa un tipo de manifestación artística consolidada y de gran relevancia. Los monumentos presentes en los cementerios constituyen un recuerdo íntimo y, a la vez, artístico de indudable valor patrimonial que es necesario reconocer y conservar. En el ámbito de la conservación y restauración de materiales pétreos se plantean estrategias y procedimientos que prolongan y aseguran la durabilidad de los monumentos funerarios en el tiempo.

[EN] This final degree project presents the study of the Latorre-Andrés family pantheon, which is located in the General Cemetery of Valencia. The sculptor of this work is Eugenio Carbonell Mir and it was made in his most modernist stylistic stage. The materials used are Macael marble and Carrara marble. The purpose of this work was to assess the conservation status of the Latorre-Andrés pantheon and to make a proposal for a valued intervention. Furthermore, the need to implement strategies that prevent and conserve funeral monuments located in cemeteries is acclaimed.

The funerary art of cemeteries represents a type of consolidated artistic manifestation of great relevance. The monuments in the cemeteries constitute an intimate and, at the same time, artistic memory of undoubted heritaged value that must be recognized and preserved.

In the field of conservation and restoration of stone materials, strategies and procedures are proposed to prolong and ensure the durability of funeral monuments over time.
