The Parc dels Colors (Park of Colours). Journey– Viatge 20(20)

Abstract

[ES] El Parque de los Colores de Mollet del Vallés, inaugurado el año 2001 como homenaje póstumo al arquitecto Enric Miralles, es una obra de reactivación del espacio púbico, instalada en el centro de su biografía. Intentando reconstruir una versión de la historia de esta obra, e imposibilitado de volver a visitar el Parque, inicio un viaje por medio de conversaciones a distancia con personas claves en la generación de este proyecto, quienes me han permitido enfocar la mirada en la continuidad de los trayectos, en el momento de las preguntas inconclusas procedentes de otros finales abiertos. Con estas personas Miralles hizo estos caminos, los cuales él decía que no sabía imaginar, construía las ideas por medio del dibujo, de la suma de capas e intérpretes, colaboradores sucesivos, del mismo problema. A 28 años de la llegada del encargo al estudio en Carrer d'Avinyó, y a 20 años de su partida, se siguen imaginando versiones del mismo proyecto y constatando que este lugar nunca ha dejado de transformarse, Enric Miralles lo sabía.

[EN] The Parc dels Colors in Mollet del Vallès, inaugurated in 2001 as a posthumous tribute to the architect Enric Miralles, is a project that was intended to reactivate the public space, situated at the heart of his biography. Attempting to reconstruct a version of the history of this work, and unable to visit the Park again, I began a journey by means of long-distance conversations with key people in the creation of this project, who have allowed me to focus on the continuity of the journeys, at a moment of unfinished questions coming from other open ends. With these people, Miralles made these paths, which he said he could not imagine; he created the ideas through drawing, through the combination of layers and interpreters, successive collaborators, of the same problem. Twenty-eight years after the arrival of the commission at the studio in Carrer d'Avinyó, and twenty years after his departure, versions of the same project are still being imagined and, noting that this place has never stopped transforming, Enric Miralles knew this.
